Guidelines

Impact writers

  1. Start with Real-World Impact
→ Open with a powerful stat, story, or image highlighting a real sustainability challenge or win.
Example: “Every year, 8 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans—equivalent to dumping a garbage truck every minute.”

  2. Make It Relatable
→ Connect global issues to everyday actions. Help readers see how sustainability affects their lives.
Ex: “Your morning coffee has a carbon footprint—let’s unpack that.”

  3. Use Storytelling
→ Highlight personal journeys, community initiatives, or brand case studies.
    People remember stories, not stats.

  4. Back It Up with Data (But Keep It Simple)
→ Use credible sources and cite them, but break down the numbers in an easy-to-understand way.
Use visuals or infographics when possible.

  5. Show Hope, Not Just Problems
→ Balance the narrative by showing progress, solutions, or innovations.
Ex: “Here’s how this startup is turning food waste into clean energy.”

  6. Break It Down with Sections & Lists
→ Sustainability can be overwhelming—make it digestible with headings, bullet points, and short paragraphs.

  7. Include a Clear Call-to-Action (CTA)
→ Whether it’s “switch to reusable bags,” “share this article,” or “support a cause”—tell readers what they can do.

  8. Stay Authentic & Transparent
→ If you’re writing as a brand or individual, share your journey—challenges, setbacks, and wins.
    Honesty builds trust.

  9. Incorporate Visuals
→ Use before/after shots, infographics, or short videos. Visual storytelling can often explain more than text.

 10. Word limit, font and size

      → 500 with Arial font size 10
